Massachusetts cannabis delivery

15 practical questions, answered.

Each answer points to the controlling Massachusetts or Cannabis Control Commission source. Community discussions helped prioritize the questions; they do not override the official rules.

01Is adult-use cannabis delivery legal in my Massachusetts town?

Adult-use delivery is permitted statewide unless an eligible municipality obtained a time-limited waiver from the Cannabis Control Commission. The town map uses the current CCC municipal tracker and separately identifies operators whose own sites publish coverage for that town.

02How can I tell whether a delivery service is licensed?

Check the business and license number against the CCC licensing resources. Every operator profile in this directory is tied to an active Massachusetts delivery license and links back to the regulator source.

03Can cannabis be delivered to a hotel, motel, or bed-and-breakfast?

05Can an out-of-state visitor order cannabis delivery?

A consumer must be at least 21 and complete the operator’s identity checks. An out-of-state ID may establish age, but the delivery still must go to an eligible Massachusetts residence and the cannabis cannot be taken across state lines.

06What identification is required?

Operators must authenticate a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID before the first order and match that same consumer and ID again at delivery.

07Can someone else accept my order?

09How much cannabis can an adult order?

Massachusetts increased the adult-use purchase and possession amount to two ounces, or the equivalent amount of marijuana products as determined by the Commission, effective April 19, 2026. Operators must apply the current product-equivalency rules at checkout.

10Are delivery prices taxed?

Adult-use sales remain subject to Massachusetts marijuana retail taxes. Which licensed business collects and remits the tax depends on whether the order is sold by a Delivery Operator or delivered by a Courier on behalf of a retailer.

11Is there a delivery fee or minimum order?

Fees and minimums are set by individual operators and can vary by location, distance, and time. This directory compares category-level averages when the underlying menu sample passes review, but the operator’s own checkout is the authority for current fees and minimums.

12Can I pay with cash, debit, or credit?

Payment methods differ by operator. Confirm the accepted methods on the licensed operator’s official website before ordering; this directory does not collect payment or place orders.
