Adult-use delivery restriction

Lincoln
said no … for now.

Adult-use cannabis delivery is temporarily restricted in Lincoln under CCC waiver DW-2026-005. The Select Board first discussed the state law in April 2026, noting that private-home delivery raised a different question from storefront sales. It then requested a one-year waiver while the town prepares a non-binding resident poll for the March 2027 Town Meeting. The town says it plans to revisit its position with the CCC after that vote.

What can I do now?

Delivery is blocked, but licensed pickup may still be available nearby.

The CCC’s official locator can search adult-use retailers by ZIP code and distance. A nearby store is a pickup option—not a workaround for delivery to Lincoln.

How the town got here

01

The Select Board opened the delivery question without taking a final position.

The Select Board reviewed the newly signed state law and the possibility that delivery could become available in communities that had prohibited retail marijuana establishments. Members noted that delivery to private homes could be a different policy question from allowing a public storefront and said they needed more information before acting.

Support recorded
The Select Board agreed that the new delivery rules required a separate local discussion.
Objections / gaps
Members said the opt-out process, timing, and appropriate local decision-maker were not yet clear.
02

The Board chose a temporary waiver path tied to a future resident poll.

The Board discussed preserving Lincoln’s prior restriction only until residents could consider the new delivery-specific question. Members agreed to draft a letter asking the Commonwealth to continue the moratorium through the March 2027 Annual Town Meeting.

Support recorded
Select Board members supported requesting temporary continuity while the town prepared a public vote.
Objections / gaps
The record distinguishes home delivery from Lincoln’s earlier retail-marijuana vote; residents had not yet been asked the delivery question.
03

Lincoln requested the one-year adult-use delivery waiver now recorded by the CCC.

Lincoln’s official Select Board newsletter says the Board decided to request a one-year CCC waiver. The waiver blocks adult-use delivery while the town prepares a non-binding poll for the March 2027 Town Meeting, after which the Board says it will adjust Lincoln’s position with the Commission.

Support recorded
The Select Board approved the temporary waiver request.
Objections / gaps
No individual opposition is attributed in the town’s published summary; the unresolved policy choice is scheduled for residents in March 2027.
